NEW YORK (WABC) -- A man was honored for an heroic rescue, saving four New York City police officers from a fiery crash.
Juan Lopez was honored Thursday night by the New York Building Construction Trades.
Lopez is an apprentice steamfitter.
He and his siblings witnessed a police cruiser and a van collided back in March, both vehicles immediately burst into flames.
Lopez and his family pulled the men to safety.
Lopez received the 2014 Building Futures Award and a proclamation from the Office of the Public Advocate.
