PATERSON (WABC) -- Authorities in New Jersey found a woman shot and killed in her garage, and investigators say her killer went to the police station to tell them about it.
The scene played out on Belmont Avenue in Paterson late Tuesday.
Perfis Pena-Nunez, 30, reportedly went to Paterson police on his own just before 10:30 p.m., telling officers that he had a problem with his girlfriend.
When they responded to the location, they made a grizzly discovery.
They found 26-year-old Jackie Delarosa-Rodriguez dead of an apparent gunshot wound to the head on the floor of the garage.
Pena-Nunez said they previously dated and lived together.
It is unknown if they were living together at the time of the homicide or what sparked the deadly incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
Pena-Nunez is charged in connection with the death. Bail has not been set.
