STAMFORD, Connecticut (WABC) -- An investigation is now underway in Stamford after police found two people dead in the frigid cold weather this weekend.
A small memorial now marks the spot where officers found a 50-year-old woman Saturday morning at a bus stop on East Main Street.
That same day, officers also found a 52-year-old man near the softball fields in Cummings Park.
Stamford's mayor says the city offers services and warming centers for anyone looking for an escape from the bitter cold.
"We also have a task force made up of our police department, our homeless shelters as well as liberation programs and other nonprofits that work with residents who are unsheltered to make sure that everyone has a roof over their head particularly during these cold weather days," said Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons.
The medical examiner will determine the official causes of death, but investigators said they found no signs of foul play.
