The San Antonio Spurs put the basketball world on notice with an instant classic double-overtime victory over the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals. The stunning result knocked the Thunder out of odds-on status to win the NBA Finals for the first time in weeks, but they're still the favorites at +125. The Spurs moved from +310 to +155 in the title odds with the win.
The epic Cleveland Cavaliers-Detroit Pistons series finally concluded Sunday night when the Cavs prevailed outright as 4.5-point underdogs to set up an engagement with the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference finals. Cleveland improved from 50-1 to 20-1 to win the NBA Finals and from +650 to +215 to win the conference, but that's still a far cry from New York's +475 Finals and -265 conference future odds.
Roughly in line with the team future odds, each squad's superstar is a favorite to win Finals MVP. Recently-crowned regular-season MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leads the way at +135, with Victor Wembanyama (+170), Jalen Brunson (+600) and Donovan Mitchell (28-1) in chase.
