Cabaret to close on Broadway due to Billy Porter sepsis diagnosis

NEW YORK (WABC) -- The Broadway show 'Cabaret' has announced it will be closing in two weeks, citing the unexpected illness of current Emcee Billy Porter.

The producers of the show say he is recovering from a serious case of sepsis.

Doctors say they are confident Porter will make a full recovery, but have advised him to rest.

The show had already been slated to close in about six weeks.

Marty Lauter and David Merino will perform as Emcee for the final two weeks of the production.
