Thieves raid luxury handbags from NJ store

MORRISTOWN, New Jersey (WABC) -- Police are investigating a major bag heist at a vintage luxury boutique in Morristown, New Jersey.

"They got in and got out in like 15 seconds," the store owner Chuck Spinella said.

Security camera video shows several thieves racing into the store and running off with as much merchandise as they could get their hands on while customers were still in the store.

The store 'C'est la Bella' was stocked up for a big sale on Tuesday.

The owner is distraught about the robbery.

"The woman took two Chanels. They're very high-end bags. The rest of them got Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Celine. Things like that. The first thing they say they went and grabbed," Spinella said.

The owner said two women came in the day before wearing hats and sunglasses and he knew something was amiss.

One returned the next day, and minutes later, the suspects ransacked the store.

"I'm 100 percent sure they were sticking the place out," Spinella said.

About 32 bags were taken, worth $42,000.

The owner said his dog chased after one of the suspects, helping her to be caught.

These crimes of high-end resale shops are common and unsettling for shop owners.

"We need to get together and figure out what we can do about this, because it's a problem and it doesn't seem to be going away," Spinella said.

Two cars were seen outside the shop when the crime took place.

The owner plans to reopen the store as soon as he can.
