You could have a Michelin-star chef prepare your next dinner party

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- A company called "Resident" is bringing chefs from Michelin restaurants to host public dinners and private events around New York City.

Brian Mommsen started Resident in 2018.

"We're pairing underserved talent with this underutilized space and we host these culinary experiences that are very focused on talent," Mommsen said.

Resident prides itself on its range of both large and small private and corporate gatherings and ticketed experiences for the public.

"We work with amenity spaces that have kitchens but also don't have kitchens that can be a perfect spot of a panel discussion or cocktail party," Resident co-founder Robin Fisher said.

You are able to choose the chef, who are all Michelin-trained.

They usually have day jobs but still find time to carefully curate dinners that are several courses and paired with wine.

Chef Josh White planned a bi-coastal themed dinner with drunken snapper followed by spring parfait, coal-roasted short rib, and spiced miso cake.

"The number one goal for Resident has always been what new talent in the industry is coming up and how can we give them the voice that someone else is not able to," Chef White said.

The next stops for Resident are LA, Northern California, Miami and Denver.

Down the line, the plan is for clients to also have the option of hosting an event in their own homes.
