Elmont man fatally stabbed in home on Long Island; resident charged with murder

ELMONT, Nassau County (WABC) -- A man was fatally stabbed inside a home on Long Island and a 23-year-old resident has been charged in connection with his death, according to police.

Officers responded to reports of a stabbing at a residence on Travis Avenue in Elmont around 1 p.m. on Sunday.

When police arrived, they found 33-year-old Jasson Phillips inside the home with multiple stab wounds.

Witnesses at the scene identified Desean Harrison, 23, as the suspect, police said. He was taken into custody without incident.

Phillips was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Harrison has been charged with second-degree murder and is set to be arraigned Dec. 29. at First District Court in Hempstead.
