ESSEX COUNTY, New Jersey (WABC) -- The largest display of cherry blossoms in the U.S. is just weeks away in Essex County, New Jersey.
Officials revealed plans on Thursday for the 50th annual Cherry Blossom Festival.
Plans for the fest include some new activities and tried-and-true events, like the 10K run.
There will be a cherry blossom bike race, a kids one-mile fun run, a family day, and 'Bloom Fest.'
The collection of 5,300 trees is bigger than the national display in Washington, D.C. and is also the country's most diverse.
"For 50 years, Bloom Fest has brought people together across generations and communities to experience the power of this historic landscape work of art," said Thomas Dougherty, the president of the Branch Brook Park Alliance.
The festival runs from April 4 to April 19 at Essex County Branch Brook Park.
Cherry blossom season in New Jersey typically peaks in early to mid-April.
