2 hurt in Washington Heights apartment fire

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan (WABC) -- Two people were injured, one critically, in an apartment fire in Washington Heights overnight.

Fire broke out on the third floor of the building at 566 West 162nd Street just after midnight on Monday.

Two people were injured and rushed to a nearby hospital.

A man believed to be in his fifties was in critical condition and a 78-year-old woman is in stable condition.

Two people were left homeless.

The fire is under investigation.
