Driver killed in single-car crash through backyard fence in Lacey Township
LACEY TOWNSHIP, New Jersey (WABC) -- A fatal crash in Ocean County is under investigation after a driver was found dead in Lacey Township on Wednesday.
Police say the single-vehicle crash happened in the area of Lake Barnegat Drive North and Haines Street in Lanoka Harbor.
Investigators believe the car ran off the roadway, crashed through a fence and struck a tree.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim's identity.
Officials say the crash was reported by a resident Wednesday morning, and investigators are still working to determine exactly when the incident occurred.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
