NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- A man was killed after being attacked by three pit bulls in Newark.
Police say they were called to Georgia King Village near Cabinet Street around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, after reports of a man being attacked by dogs.
Officials say the victim stepped in after seeing the three pit bulls fighting. The dogs, which are owned by someone the victim knows, then turned on him.
Authorities say the victim managed to escape, but lost consciousness after being bitten. He was later pronounced dead.
Animal Control was notified and responded to the scene, but it is unclear if they took custody of the dogs or if the owner will be charged.
