TRIBECA, Manhattan (WABC) -- The FDNY is investigating what appear to be unfounded reports of Molotov cocktails in a Tribeca apartment after a fire on Friday morning.
The fire broke out inside 14 Murray Street shortly before 8:30 a.m.
It all started when an emotionally disturbed woman called 911 to report a burglary at her apartment. She claimed someone broke in and set her apartment on fire with Molotov cocktails.
However officials say it turns out she started a small fire in her apartment that was quickly extinguished.
She is being taken to the hospital for an evaluation
Although she reported Molotov cocktails in her apartment, when investigators arrived, they only found a bottle of mouthwash.
