MTA Hero: NYC Transit team steps up during LIRR strike
The Transit employees were up early for several days to coordinate third-party buses to provide shuttle service for riders - easing rush hour commutes.

Eyewitness News is honoring New York City Transit employees who stepped up during the Long Island Rail Road strike last month.

They woke up at 3:30 a.m. for several days to coordinate third-party buses to provide shuttle service for riders - easing rush hour commutes.

NYC Transit President Demetrius Crichlow thanked these dedicated employees for their work.

"You've heard us talk a lot about 'One MTA,' and this is a great example of it," he said.
