Multiple NYPD officers struck by stolen vehicle, driver shot by police, officials say

FORDHAM, The Bronx (WABC) -- Multiple NYPD officers were struck by a stolen vehicle in the Bronx.

Officials say the officers were chasing the silver Kia Sportage on East Fordham Road around 6 p.m. Sunday. The car, with New Jersey plates, was reported stolen on Saturday.

After surrounding the vehicle, multiple officers were struck. They were all taken to area hospitals in stable condition.

One of the officers who was struck by the vehicle fired his weapon, striking the driver in the arm.

The 18-year-old suspect was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.
