
MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS (WABC) -- Police shot a suspect on Friday night after the suspect fired shots at two men in Harlem, police sources said.
The suspect opened fire on two men, striking one in the chest and the second victim was not struck, police sources said.
Officers witnessed the shooting and chased down the suspect on 125th Street and Amsterdam, police sources said.
The police sergeant fired his gun at the suspect during the chase and struck the suspect, who was taken to the hospital, police sources said.
The other officer on the scene, a detective, rendered aid to the victim who was shot in the chest. That victim was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in critical condition, police sources said.
Bullets, unclear from the suspect or officer's gunfire, went through the glass of Medrite Urgent Care, police sources say.
No other bystanders were injured, police said.
