
MORRISANIA, The Bronx (WABC) -- Police are searching for the man accused of punching an on-duty MTA bus driver in the face in the Bronx.
The assault happened around 5:30 p.m. on Friday along Third Avenue and East 163rd Street in the Morrisania section.
According to the NYPD, the suspect boarded a BX15 bus and got into a verbal dispute with the 42-year-old MTA employee before attacking him. The man then fled the scene on a bicycle.
First responders transported the victim, who suffered pain and swelling to his face, to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
Police say the suspect is a man believed to be between 25-35 years old with a medium complexion, black hair and at least 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with a large white "Nike Air" written on the front, gray gloves, gray pants and a black over-the-shoulder bag.
