Police fatally shoot knife-wielding man on Brooklyn Bridge after confrontation: NYPD
NEW YORK (WABC) -- An apparently emotionally disturbed man was fatally shot by police on the Brooklyn Bridge early Friday morning.
Police officers responded to reports of a man climbing the bridge around 3:28 a.m.
As officers attempted to talk him down off the span, the man suddenly came at them with a knife, police said.
Police fired shots and the man was struck. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
