ST. ALBANS, Queens (WABC) -- Three more teens have been arrested and charged in last month's shooting death of 15-year-old Jaden Pierre in a park in Queens.
The three teens, all 15 years old, have been charged with gang assault in connection with the altercation that culminated in the deadly shooting of Pierre on Thursday, April 16, in Roy Wilkins Park in St. Albans.
The three new cases are all being prosecuted in family court.
In all, 18-year-old Zahir David is charged with murder, and four teens, the three 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old, are charged with gang assault.
Davis is a reputed member of the BG4 gang, and detectives believe the shooting stemmed from previous fights between him and Pierre.
After reviewing the cellphone video, detectives believe that Davis may have been attempting to pistol-whip Pierre during an ongoing fight, but the gun went off.
Police say the two came together at a water and gel gun fight organized by Pierre and promoted on social media.
