Body of second missing kayaker pulled from Shinnecock Bay on Long Island

SHINNECOCK BAY, Long Island (WABC) -- A second missing kayaker on Long Island was found dead on Monday.

Police divers recovered the body of Aaron Montemarano, 25, in Shinnecock Bay around 11:30 a.m.

Montemarano was the second of two missing kayakers whose bodies were recovered in the past two days.

Divers found the body of Shane Garcia, 27, on Sunday evening.

The discoveries come after Garcia and Montemarano never returned from a trip on Saturday. Their kayaks and paddles were spotted around noon on Sunday, apparently after washing ashore.

Southampton Town Marine Units and the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team searched the Shinnecock Bay in conjunction with search efforts on land using drones from the Southampton Town Drone Unit as well as using 4x4 vehicles to search the beaches.
