
PASSAIC COUNTY, New Jersey (WABC) -- A 160-acre wildfire has been burning in West Milford, New Jersey since Tuesday night.
The fire broke out in the area of Clinton Road around 9:41 p.m.
NewsCopter 7 captured video of the fire where thick clouds of smoke were seen billowing from trees.
The New Jersey Forest Fire Service crews were on the scene trying to put out the fire, which is now 40% contained.
Overnight crews constructed containment lines and began backfire operations.
By day, a forest fire service helicopter began dropping buckets containing 325 gallons of water.
Clinton Road has been closed between Goldfinch Lane & Van Orden Road.
The fire has not threatened any structures and has not led to evacuations.
The cause of the wildfire remains under investigation.
