No suspicious powder detected after handwritten note left in Queens courtroom

QUEENS, New York (WABC) -- First responders acted out of an abundance of caution after a two-page handwritten note was left in a Queens courtroom on Thursday evening.

Despite initial reports of a suspicious powder being discovered, officials say that no suspicious powder or hazardous substance was detected at the Supreme Criminal Courthouse in Kew Gardens.

There were also initial reports of possible injuries, but officials revealed that two court officers were taken to the hospital for observation were released an hour later.

No court official or judge was specifically identified in the note.

DEP and DCAS cleaned the area.
