
RIVERDALE, The Bronx (WABC) -- Police arrested a man they say raped a 13-year-old girl in Van Cortlandt Park the Bronx last week.
Abundio Hernandez Cantu, 36, of Yonkers, is now facing a charge of rape after being arrested on Monday.

Investigators say the attack happened Tuesday, June 23 at about 10 p.m. Authorities say the girl was on a northbound Bx9 bus when Hernandez Cantu approached her.
Police say the suspect got off the bus with the victim near Broadway and West 261st Street, then grabbed her and dragged her into a wooded area inside the park, where she was sexually assaulted. He then fled on foot.
The victim was taken by EMS to a nearby hospital and was listed in stable condition.
