ELMHURST, N.Y. (WABC) -- Three people were shot, one fatally, early Friday morning outside a club on Queens Boulevard.
Tamar Sermons, 20, was shot in the neck and leg, and was pronounced dead at Elmhurst hospital, while the two other victims are in stable condition.
The surviving victims, a 21-year-old woman from Valley Stream who was shot in the rear-end and leg and a 31-year-old man from Spring Valley who was grazed in the head, are both in stable condition at Elmhurst Hospital.
The shooting stemmed from a dispute inside Club Hive nightclub at Queens Boulevard and Barnwell Avenue in Elmhurst. Around 4 a.m., police responded to a call of a disorderly crowd, and when they arrived, the crowd dispersed into the street and someone began shooting, hitting the three victims.
The 20-year-old's purse and cellphone were left at the scene. The cellphone rang all morning.
"It's very troublesome when you see this kind of thing happening and the investigation is ongoing," Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said. "We'll see what we have."
No one is custody at this point. The identity of the deceased is pending family notification.
The group had been at the Barclays Center for the Power 105.1 Powerhouse 2014 show, and then they went to the club afterwards.
The after-party was thrown by radio station Power 105.1. According to the club's Instagram account, Club Hive celebrated its grand opening on Sept. 12.
The space was previously Club Exotics, closed in July 2013 by the State Liquor Authority and the local precinct after communities complained.
The space is no stranger to violence.
On Thanksgiving 2008, a 27-year-old man was fatally stabbed in the chest outside another prior incarnation of this location, the Krystal Club.
The NYPD closed the Hive Lounge in November for violation of previous court stipulations.
