NEW YORK (WABC) -- Tenants protested planned increases on rent-controlled units in New York City on Monday night.

Protesters rallied before a Rent Guidelines Board meeting in the Bronx.

In a preliminary vote in April, the board recommended a 1- to 3-percent increase on 1-year leases, and a 2- to 4-percent increase on 2-year leases.

There are two more public hearings before a final vote on June 27th.
