RIDGEWOOD, New Jersey (WABC) -- Police in New Jersey are warning residents about a parking ticket scam.
Ridgewood police say someone has been sending emails to drivers, saying they owe money for parking tickets and asking them to pay by credit card.
The e-mail usually refers to parking in loading zones or handicap spots and even comes with a fake parking ticket number.
Police note that real parking tickets don't come through email.
