'7th Heaven' actress Sarah Goldberg dies at 40Goldberg was known for her role in "7th Heaven" amongst numerous films and television programs

Sarah Goldberg, an actress and Chicago native best known for her role in TV's "7th Heaven," passed away at the age of 40 on September 27.



Goldberg portrayed Sarah Glass Camden, a Jewish medical student who falls in love with the son of a Christian minister on "7th Heaven." Goldberg also appeared in other notable films and TV series including "Training Day," "Jurassic Park III," "House" and "Judging Amy."



Goldberg passed away in her sleep in Wisconsin while visiting family. over the Jewish High Holy Days. While an autopsy has proved inconclusive, Goldberg's mother told PEOPLE the actress is believed to have died due to a heart condition.



Goldberg holds a degree in biology from Amherst College, and was originally planning to become a doctor. But Goldberg switched her career path to acting after working as an extra in the 1997 Julia Roberts' romantic comedy "My Best Friend's Wedding," according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Goldberg was also passionate about water skiing and yoga, and resided in Santa Monica.



Goldberg was also incredibly devoted to animal rescue. In Los Angeles, she rescued two dogs, Daisy and Bucket. Her family is requesting that donations and contributions be made to the Sarah Goldberg Memorial Fund at PAWS, 1997 N. Clybourn Ave. You can learn more about the PAWS organization below.
