ATLANTA -- Atlanta police arrested a babysitter and accused her of kidnapping two young girls over the weekend.

The mother of the girls, an 11-month-old and a 4 year old, reported the girls missing on Saturday night.

Police said the mother left the girls with Lakisha Brown. When she got home, the girls were missing and Brown was gone.

The mother told police she knew Brown for about a year and trusted her to babysit.

On Monday, the two girls were found at a property after police used cellphone data.

Fugitive investigators searching the area heard a baby crying from inside a trailer and entered. They found both girls and took Brown into custody.

Police said the children appeared to be in good health.

Investigators said Brown has ties to Alabama and was wanted there for failing to appear in connection with an earlier case involving similar circumstances about five years ago.

Atlanta authorities were working with Alabama officials to learn more about that case.

No other information was available.
