Moreno brothers talk recent business success and viral birria tacos

WILLIAMSBURG, NEW YORK -- In 2019, brothers José and Jesus Moreno founded Birria-Landia, a food truck operating out of Jackson Heights, Queens. After years of working in Manhattan's fine dining restaurants, José Moreno wanted to try his own hand at owning and operating a business, and what better way to start than with your family.

Originally from Puebla, Mexico, José and Jesus Moreno brought the viral Birria tacos of 2019 to New York City where they opened their first truck in Jackson Heights, Queens. They sell four items: birria beef tacos, consomé for dipping, tostadas and mulitas priced at five dollars or less.

What started as a dream for José Moreno has quickly turned into a reputable business that welcomes customers from the five boroughs and beyond. Today, the two brothers have a booming social media presence with over 80 thousand followers and their food trucks have expanded to include locations in Brooklyn, the Bronx and Manhattan. Their birria tacos have been the topic of numerous publications like Eater, The Infatuation, and most recently, they've become the first and only food truck to make The New York Times list of 100 Best Restaurants.
