TEANECK (WABC) -- A mother and son are dead after they were stabbed inside a home in Bergen County, New Jersey Wednesday night.

Police were called to the scene on Ward Plaza in Teaneck around 10:40 p.m. about a fight between two brothers and their elderly mother. A 911 call came in from the home and police said the dispatcher only heard screens in the background.

The conditions of the two victims were serious when they were rushed to Englewood and Holy Name hospitals.

Police have identified the victims as the suspect's mother, Victoria Knight, 84, and brother, Ronald Victor Knight, 52.

The suspect has been identified as Keith Knight, 60. He was arrested and charged with two counts of murder and one count of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. His bond was set at $2 million.

Officers said that when they arrived at the scene, Keith Knight met them at the front door and had what appeared to be blood on his hands. Once inside, officers found the victims on the floor and a large amount of blood in the kitchen, living room and hallway.

Police executed a search warrant at the house and later found the knife they say was used in the crime.

Detectives said it's unclear what motive was at this point.

A grandson of Victoria Knight said she was a community leader and retired librarian. Keith Knight has a history of mental issues after a brain injury years back, he said.
