Raw surveillance from NYPD: Police are looking for a suspect caught on video after a teen girl was severely beaten and sexually assaulted leaving a subway station in the Bronx early Monday, police said.

BRONX, New York (WABC) -- Police are looking for a suspect caught on video after a teen girl was severely beaten and sexually assaulted leaving a subway station in the Bronx early Monday, police said.

Around 4:40 a.m., a 15-year-old met a man at the Gun Hill Road subway station and the two walked together to Bronx Park at Bronx Boulevard and East 213th Street.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said the teen was leaving the No. 2 train station. "She is then pulled into the Bronx River area, not far from there, and she is assaulted, rather dramatically," Boyce said. "We believe she fought very hard."

The suspect sexually assaulted the victim before fleeing on foot east on East 213 Street, according to the New York City Police Department. The victim was taken to Montefiore Medical Center Hospital where she is stable. She also sustained significant head injuries.

Boyce said the girl, who is a high school student, was found hours later at about 10 a.m.

Boyce said that area happens to be the location of an open murder investigation. "The place is well known to me. I have an open homicide. I don't think they are related at this point, there isn't enough information," he said.

The facts of the case are still emerging.

"She was severely physically assaulted," Boyce said. "The other facts of the case have to be developed."

The individual is described as a man with a medium complexion, about 25, 5 feet 10 inches with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black Champion hooded sweatshirt bearing the "C" logo, blue jeans, gray Timberland boots and black gloves. He also had scabs on his lips.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
