George Washington Bridge overnight lane closures start Monday night

FORT LEE, N.J. -- Motorists who use the George Washington Bridge are facing detours.

The lower level eastbound lanes to New York City will close between Monday and Thursday from 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night. They will also be closed from 11 p.m. Friday through 8 a.m. Saturday.

Officials say the eastbound lane closures will allow for the removal of temporary construction platforms used for the upper level deck installation.
