Horrific Valhalla crash leaves 1 dead

VALHALLA (WABC) -- One person was killed in a horrific crash in Westchester County early Friday.

The accident happened on Columbus Avenue near Locust Street in Valhalla around 4:20 a.m., with the SUV slamming into a pole.

The impact was so severe that the SUV was nearly torn in half.

The pole was damaged as well, and Con Edison was on the scene to deal with any power issues.

The circumstances of the crash, as well as the identity of the victim, are not known at this time.
