NEW YORK (WABC) -- Three subway cars on the N line subways have been taken out of service and fumigated after bedbugs were discovered on the train.

Bed bugs were spotted on the N train Saturday night -- the last creatures commuters want to see follow them home. The MTA said this is an isolated incident and no crew members or passengers have reported bites.

MTA spokesperson Kevin Ortiz said, "Bedbugs discovered Saturday night into Sunday morning. Reported by both personnel and customers on the N train. Three trains have been taken out of service and fumigated. The MTA continues to spot check other crew and passenger areas. They say this is isolated. No crew members or passengers have reported bites by the bedbugs."

The trains were taken to a rail yard in Coney Island, but commuters are wondering if they are still riding the train.

"Very gross," said John Moses, of Sunset Park.

The MTA confirmed on Wednesday that three cars have been fumigated. The bed bugs were found in both the conductor's compartment and the passenger cars; some were in seat cushions.

"They go to people's homes," said Amanda Shore, who lives in Union Square. "Not good."

"I don't want to sit down," said Keiana Burton, of Harlem. "That's really gross."

But the MTA said this is an isolated incident, and it will continue to spot-check passenger cars and crew areas.

"I usually don't like sit down," said Shore. "(I'll) be even more cautious now."
