WAKEFIELD (WABC) -- There were bone chilling screams from a family member after finding out Keshon Porterfield had been killed. He was just 17. In what would turn out to be his final post on Facebook at 10:12 Sunday night, he was heading out to a party in the Wakefield section of the Bronx. 3 hours later, he was killed.

"It's just crazy, really crazy," says Valerie Gooden.

During the backyard party, someone opened fire, fatally striking Keshon in the back. Another 17-year-old boy was hit in the leg.

"She heard shots, ran and said she jumped over a fence," says Gooden, "she said she felt like her foot couldn't take it anymore, looked down and realize she had been shot,"

Police found an air gun in the front yard where the party took place. 232nd Street was littered with shell casings and other evidence, including a pair of jeans from another teen at the party.

On Thursday, Keshon shared a letter stating he had officially gotten off probation.

"He's not some gang banger, he's not in no blood or crips," said the victim's uncle, Franklin Porterfield, "he's going to school, actually - just got him back into school."

Keshon lived in the Edenwald Houses with his grandmother and his sister. Mary Golden, who lives next door, wishes she could have done more for the victim.

"I know him too well, if I could have had him, I would, but he wasn't the kind of child to take help," says Golden.

Five siblings of the teen who was killed arrived at the scene Sunday morning, saying they learned of the shooting on Facebook.

No arrests have been made. Police originally had a person in custody, but he has since been released.
