New Wegmans store to open in New Jersey this weekend

MONTVALE, New Jersey (WABC) -- A town in New Jersey is rolling out the welcome mat for Wegmans.

The popular grocery store chain opens its latest store this Sunday (Sept. 24) in Montvale in Bergen County.

The new store will employ 500 people -- 450 of whom are new to the company.

Employees have spent the last several months training and preparing for the opening.

Montvale has also been getting ready for the store's opening -- widening surrounding roads and installing new traffic signals near the store.
