UPPER WEST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- A holiday tradition is being renewed Monday night on Manhattan's Upper West Side. It's the 17th year for the Winter's Eve celebration at Lincoln Square.

WABC-TV is the co-sponsor.

The celebration features music, food, and the annual lighting of the Upper West Side Holiday Tree in Dante Park at Broadway and 63rd Street.

More than 30 of Lincoln Square's finest restaurants and eateries are offering food tastings at nominal cost (generally $1 to $4) at three separate outdoor locations until 8:30 p.m.

Dozens of local stores and neighborhood institutions are hosting activities and holiday cheer throughout the evening, many with live performances and art projects for kids including music, performers, processional groups, jugglers, stilt-walkers and more.

The annual event is hosted by the Lincoln Square Business Improvement District.
