NJ doc accused of giving expired vaccines

TOMS RIVER Dr. Jose Romillo's medical license was suspended last month for a series of infractions, including giving at least two children expired vaccines, according to a report on the Web site of the Asbury Park Press.

Because of incomplete records, it's hard to tell which children got the outdated vaccines, and what types of vaccines they received. That's why New Jersey and Ocean County health officials say any child vaccinated by Romillo since 1999 needs to get shots again.

Employees of the doctor also told the state Board of Medical Examiners that he attended to patients while drunk and once fired a handgun in his office.

He is facing aggravated assault charges for allegedly pointing a gun at someone.
