The 40-year-old father of two had been in critical condition since the attack Thursday in Southampton.
Customer Anthony Oddone is being held on $50,000 bail after pleading not guilty to assault. A spokesman for Suffolk County prosecutors did not immediately respond to an e-mail message Saturday asking whether more charges would be filed in light of Reiser's death.
The 25-year-old Oddone is represented by Suffolk County's Legal Aid Society, which has a policy of not commenting on ongoing cases.
A message left at his Farmingville home was not immediately returned.
