Judge weighing delay for Fort Dix plot trial

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - U.S. District Judge Robert Kugler Tuesday will hear from Gregory Lee. The expert witness was hired to help the five defendants accused of planning to attack soldiers on Fort Dix.

Defense lawyers say Lee's testimony on the role of paid government informants could be crucial.

But if the trial begins as scheduled on Sept. 29, he can't be there. Lee is an Army reservist who's about to be deployed in Iraq.

Kugler wants to hear from Lee before deciding whether to delay the trial. If he can't, jurors may see a videotape of him answering lawyers' questions.
