August could be key for AC casinos

ATLANTIC CITY Figures to be released at 2 p.m. Wednesday could go a long way toward determining whether the city's 11 casinos finish the year up or down.

The three summer months are usually the strongest, the time when casinos do most of their business compared to slower, cooler months.

Over the first seven months of the year, casino revenues are running 6.1 percent behind the same period last year.
