Teen arrested in gasoline attack

HEMPSTEAD Police say the 18-year-old suspect was in a fight with the boy on Wednesday when they faced off at the building on Terrace Avenue in Hempstead.

Police say the suspect threw gasoline from a bottle on the boy.

While chasing him, police say the suspect was caring a lighter and trying to light the fuel. But the boy ran into a relative's apartment.

Police say the suspect tossed gasoline on the apartment door and waited outside holding a flare.

The man has been arrested on charged of attempted assault, reckless dangerous and possession of dangerous weapons.
