Children found alone at house fire

EAST FLATBUSH The fire happened in the 700 block of East 51st Street in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn shortly after 10:00 Tuesday night.

The fire was confined to the second floor.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find three children under age 12 inside the house.

One neighbor told Eyewitness News reporter Jeff Pegues that she had been watching the children, but stepped across the street for a few minutes. When she returned, the house was burning.

Fortunately, no one was injured.
