Teens attack bus driver

CLIFTON Authorities say the 15-year-olds were among seven students from the Windsor Preparatory High School, a private school in Paterson for kids with behavioral problems, on the bus. It was just before 3 p.m. when they apparently decided to light up.

The 60-year-old bus driver reportedly told them to stop and then pulled the bus over when they refused. It was then that authorities say the teens attacked the driver, punching him in the eye and kicking him when he fell to the floor. Police say the three then exited through the rear emergency door and ran down Route 19.

The teens were then stopped by a Clifton police officer driving on the highway.

The driver was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson for treatment.
