Man killed during Bronx home invasion

Police are hunting for the suspects involved in a robbery and homicide in the Bronx.The incident happened at approximately 10:30 p.m. Friday in an apartment on Dewey Avenue in Throgs Neck.

Police say several armed suspects entered the apartment and demanded property and cash. During the robbery, the gunmen shot the victim once in the chest.

Police identified him as 24-year-old Christopher Umpierrie of the Bronx. Umpierrie was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
