Gas leak near school causes evacuations

Students were evacuated as a precaution from a school in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx following a gas leak. The leak was in a building near P.S. 204 at 108 West 174th Street just before 11 a.m.

As a precaution, students from the school were taken to an adjacent school building.

No injuries were reported.

Con Ed is on scene and in the process of turning off the gas to isolate the leak.
