NJ teacher performs at Super Bowl

DUMONT, NJ Kristy Lynch, a sign language teacher from Bergenfield, was chosen to interpret "America the Beautiful" in sign language.

Lynch interpreted for the singer Faith Hill, who performed the number at the Super Bowl pregame show.

Thirty-year-old Lynch tells The Record of Bergen County that she paid her own $1,000 airfare to get to Tampa. She says signing at the Super Bowl is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.

Her next goal is to interpret for a baseball game at Yankee Stadium.

Lynch teaches sign language at Bergenfield and Dumont high schools.
