Raid leads to alleged gang arrests

NEW YORK Those arrested, alleged members of the Bloods gang, were arrested this morning in a joint operation by the NYPD, DEA and ATF.

They were arraigned in federal court in Lower Manhattan.

The suspects were implicated in several brutal acts of violence, and are believed to have connections with the 2006 murder of 18-year-old Samantha Guzman on Mother's Day.

Charged with gun and drug dealing, four alleged members of the Creston Avenue Crew in the Bronx were arrested Wednesday morning and three are already in custody.

Investigators say the indicted suspects are associates of samanthas killer.

Police are looking actively for seven more suspects.

The teenager was in the Bronx visiting her father at the time of her killing.

Guzman, slain just weeks before she was to graduate from high school, was walking with friends on May 14, 2006, when they were approached by a pack of four to five thugs who demanded money.

As Guzman and her friends ran away, one of the alleged gang members pulled out a gun and opened fire.

The NYPD posted a $12,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of her killer

They family tells Eyewitness News they are relieved police seem to be closer to capturing their daughters killer.
