Rye school closes as flu precaution

RYE No swine flu has been reported in Rye, N.Y. But several students and teachers there had flu-like symptoms last week.

Superintendent Edward Shine says the Rye School of Leadership was closed and disinfected Monday on the recommendation of the school doctor.

The alternative high school has just 24 students.

Shine says officials are being cautious because of reports of swine flu in Mexico and New York City.

The Westchester County Health Department says there have been no reported cases of swine flu in the county, which includes Rye.
