Elgert, who works for an engineering company, is charged with possession, production and distribution of child pornography.
A neighbor said she watched agents remove at least one computer from the house.
Elgert's family was at home at the time, but declined to comment.
Authorities say they became aware of Elgert's activities during an undercover online investigation that had been in play for two months. The FBI is investigating if Elgert actually took pictures himself or if he was directing others to do so.
Authorities are also asking anyone who believes they or their children may have been a victim of Elgert to contact police.
